Cheese Slices Cinematographer Receives Gold and Silver Awards for work on Cheese Slices
Canberra-based Cinematographer, Roger Price, has won the “Award of Distinction for Cinematography” at the prestigious National ACS (Australian Cinematography Society) Awards, held at the ANZ Pavilion at the Victorian Arts Centre on Saturday, May 1. Roger’s winning entry, Cheese Slices – Portugal, is part of Will’s latest Cheese Slices DVD (Volume 4), and follows on from his Gold and Silver Awards win at the NSW / ACT Awards for Cinematography earlier this year.
The Portugal episode features Will travelling to the rugged mountains in Portugal’s north, to find out more about the King of Portuguese cheese, Serra da Estrela. Dating back to pre-Roman times, the ancient cheese is still made from ewe’s milk and curdled with the juice of cardoon thistles. Will also travels to the south to look at some of Serra da Estrela’s close cousins, before visiting the ruggedly beautiful island of Sao Jorge in the Azores to learn about the benchmark cheeses of “little Switzerland”.
