Cheese Slices Cinematographer Receives Gold and Silver Awards for work on Cheese Slices
Canberra-based Cinematographer, Roger Price, has received Gold and Silver Awards at the NSW / ACT Awards for Cinematography for his wonderful work on Will Studd’s Cheese Slices TV series (www.cheeseslices.com). Roger’s Gold-Winning entry, Cheese Slices – Portugal, which is part of Will’s latest Cheese Slices DVD (Volume 4), will now compete with the best cinematography work from around Australia at the National Awards for Cinematography in Adelaide in May 2010.
The Portugal episode features Will travelling to the rugged mountains in Portugal’s north, to find out more about the King of Portuguese cheese, Serra da Estrela. Dating back to pre-Roman times, the ancient cheese is still made from ewe’s milk and curdled with the juice of cardoon thistles. Will also travels to the south to look at some of Serra da Estrela’s close cousins, before visiting the ruggedly beautiful island of Sao Jorge in the Azores to learn about the benchmark cheeses of “little Switzerland”.
