We love Cheese Slices best when our genial, knowledgeable host Will Studd moves away from the predictable. So we really love this opener to season five, where Studd washes up on the shores of Norway to introduce us to a range of truly peculiar fromage, at least one of which proves to be near-inedible. He's not so much of a cheese snob, though that he doesn't take the time to stop by the massive Jarlsberg factory, and explain the way its bulk production helps sustain a dairy industry where most herds don't top 20 beasts. And, as always, his knack of describing the flavours and aromas makes us feel as though we're really there.
